UK Protests Russia Over Continued Strikes, Alleged NATO Airspace Breach
A Foreign Office spokesperson said the Russian envoy was called in to “strongly” denounce what it called a “grave escalation” by Moscow.
The spokesperson added that “Injuring innocent civilians on NATO territory is unacceptable and a stark reminder of the threat that Ukrainian civilians are having to endure on a daily basis,” according to the statement.
It further accused Russia of showing “blatant disregard” for civilian life by launching hundreds of drones and missiles against Ukraine while also endangering neighboring countries.
The statement also criticized recent Russian warnings advising diplomats to leave Kyiv, calling them “irresponsible and unjustified,” and reaffirmed that “The UK stands firmly with Ukraine, Romania and all of our NATO Allies and we will defend every inch of NATO territory.”
Romanian authorities said on Friday that a Russian drone hit a 10-story residential building in the city of Galați.
